Good Things For You to Know
We will not accept deer or deer trim without a deposit.
$50.00 is required per deer and $1.00 per  lb for trimmings, quarters, etc.

Pork trim must be purchased from or processed by the Edgewood Locker, Inc.

All processed deer must be picked up or paid for in full within ten days after you receive a call that it is ready.  Deer not picked up will be subject to a storage fee.

We try to work everything first in and first out, however the whole deer carcasses get done before any of the boneless meat starts  through the system.

When your order is completed we will notify you by telephone.  It is extremely important that you give your correct phone and address to us when the deer is dropped off.

We reserve the right to refuse any trim not properly handled.  Treating you venison with care will yield a high quality product.

When bringing in trim for sausage no fat, hair or bloody pieces are acceptable.

We prefer you bring in your whole carcass deer to us hide on...it does not save you any money by skinning it yourself.

Factors Affecting How Much Meat You Get -

  1. How Fat was the Deer?
Fatter deer yield heavier carcasses but most of the fat is trimmed off during processing.

  2. How many times was the deer shot?
More holes, more damage, more loss of meat due to trimming.

  3. Where was the deer shot?
Rump or loin shots destroy a lot of edible meat and ruin entire muscles.

  4. Where is the bullet exit hole?
Where the bullet exits the deer always destroys muscle tissue.

  5. Broken and Shattered Bones
You lose large amounts of meat due to bone splinters in hind leg and shoulders.

  6. Was the carcass hot or cold?
As deer chill, they lose moisture & their weight decreases.
