Awesome Proucts - Great Stew Meat
For a year or so I've eaten the delicious pre-cooked brats. They are perfect for a van camper (and part-time van dweller). In addition to the microwave, I can tell you first hand that the brats heat perfectly over an exhaust manifold, too! Wrap 'em good in foil. Really tasty stuff...
Today I tried the stew meat in my favorite camping dish: Trekker Stew. It was the best stew meat I've ever cooked with, in terms of being tender and flavorful. Here's how I make the stew:
Over a campfire, brown a couple pounds of stew meat with some oil in the bottom of a cast iron dutch oven. After browned, stir in a pound or two of cut up salad bar veggies (onions, celery, carrots, mushrooms, new potatoes, peppers, cherry tomatoes, or ... ?). Add 1 can cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 can of water. Simmer at least hours over the heat, stirring a couple of times sticking. Add a couple of small packets of brown gravy or a 2.7 ounce packet of the larger Southewestern Mills gravy mix close to completion. I like to top the stew with refrigerator biscuits and throw coals on the top of the dutch oven to help bake the biscuits.
If you use the Edgewood Stew Meat, you will think you've died and gone to Heaven.

Honey Ham & Pineapple Heaven
I've used almost every locker in Iowa over the years for venison processing, and wanted to let everyone know how much better all of the products that leave the Edgewood Locker are. The variety is awesome also, and they've come up with my favorite processed meat of all time... the honey ham & pineapple stick, if I see it in one of the local mom & pop stores I buy them all. Everyone that I've given them to has said they are the best sticks they have ever eaten. I hope some day that they can process my deer into a similar stick. Do yourself a favor and try some, betcha can't eat just one!! :-)
Family tradition
My family has been having our deer processed at the Edgewood locker since the 70's. In all those years I can not think of one time where we were displeased with either the quality or service. You can not find a more freindly and caring group than the gang at Edgewood. I will always take my venison there for processing and can't wait to see what they come up with next!
Love the BBQ Pork & Brats
We love the Edgewood Locker's BBQ pork. We often serve BBQ pork at our large family gatherings and we always get a ton of compliments! The Edgewood Locker brat selection is so extensive and everyone of them is fantastic.
